Hello to all,
I am a previous OCA member and need your local help. I have a gorgeous 1977
Toronado Brougham that I need to sell. It is show quality and my main goal
is to get it to a GOOD HOME. Anyhow, I've attached a few pictures and would
be GLAD to show it to anyone. Just have them email me for now, or they can
call my cell 816-519-9226 and leave a message. I have a son turning 16 (July
5th) and I need to make room and buy him something safe and not... collectible...
that is why this needs a good home.
The history is great on this car. I bought it in 1998 from a 88 year old
gentleman at Lake Tapawingo. He bought it brand new off Lloyd Ketcham's showroom
floor. He bought it as a retirement investment. He drove it little, it had
29K on it then and now only has 31,452 on it. He kept it in a heated / controlled
garage and under blankets. When his garage door opened, you saw only the
blankets as they draped off the huge fenders. He had the original floor mats
covered with cheap thick rubber ones to protect. The car to this day, still
has the new car smell... not the sprayed in kind either. The 8-track still
works and he gave me the original OLDSMOBILE 8-TRACK. The AC is very cold,
but the original kind? Everything works and is original. I have only put
two new tires, new radiator and battery in it.
Thank you for your time and sharing. Keep those Olds' on the road and in
the show's. They are the greatest piece of automotive history.
Regards,
Fred, Kelly, Austin (16 very soon) & Blake (15 not far behind)

WEBMANGLER NOTE: Fred said the price is $8,000 OBO -- it looks like a great

What I've got is a 1962 Olds Dynamic
88, mint green, 56,000 miles, 4 dr. sedan, 394, auto. Previously owned by
an elderly gal in Denver, CO. Original condition #3 ish. The woman dinged
the left rear corner just above the bumper, had it repaired, repainted the
car and then dinged the same spot again. That's the only rough spot on the
car. It appears that it has always been garaged, no rust and no fading from
that Colorado sun. I have manuals, original paperwork and some parts, hub
caps, wheel rings, etc. I'm asking $3,950. That's pretty close to what I've
got into it. Contact Doug Mattson, PO Box 449, Smithville, MO 64089

Assistance Requested: I bought
a 77 Cutlass 19 years ago. Now it needs restoration. I am in desparate need
of wiring diagrams for such car as well as many restoration items and services.
I also have a 77 cutlass parts car, and a still driving 78 delta 88. My 77
Cutlass is the Salon model. Anyway I would like some information if you don't
mind. This restoration project is not a speedy one, just slow progression.
The car only moves a little each year. Anyway thanks for your time. Talk
to you later, Robert from K.C. North. e-mail: Robsta337@aol.com

I am restoring a 1956 Oldsmobile
Holiday Super 88 4dr Hardtop. Currently the car is in the shop for body and
paint (red/white). Chris Lewis is the person doing the work for me. Chris
has had a few cars featured in some auto magazines because of the fantastic
work he does. The body and paint work has been done, and now Chris is polishing
the paint. Chris has had the car for about 5 months, mainly because I told
him to take his time, don't hurry. Before he started the work on the car
I had the windshield and back window taken out.
The purpose I am writing you is that I am trying to find some clips for the
back window. I found the clips that fasten to the body around the window,
but I can't find the clips that fasten the stainless steel to the rubber
seal. The Super 88 has stainless that fastens to the center of the rubber
seal, as well as the stainless that fastens to the body below the rear window,
which makes it look real nice. The original clips that fasten the stainless
steel to the center of the rubber seal were badly rusted and fell apart when
the rear window was taken out. I am having heck of a time finding those
clips.
If you have a way to email, or call, someone in your Heart of America Club
to pass the word along to see if anyone might know where I could get these
clips.
I have checked with: Fusick, Oldsmobile Parts & Supply, and a place in
Colorado that makes clips for classic and newer autos and trucks. The place
in Colorado has the clips that fasten to the body around the rear window,
but not the clips that fasten the stainless steel to the rubber seal. I have
also sent an email to the Classic-Oldsmobile Group on Yahoo. Nobody there
knew where I could go to get these clips.

I had this car, 1956 Oldsmobile Holiday Super 88 4dr Hardtop, at the BOPC
show in Lee's Summit in 2000 or 2001, I can't remember which year it was.
Any help that leads to these clips would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much.
